RO-ARO 2024 Exam Paper Leak: UPPSC Hands Over Investigation To STF – News18


At least 2,387 centres were created in 58 districts to conduct the UPPSC RO- ARO preliminary examination.

UPPSC has also constituted an internal committee to investigate the case and submit the report to the commission.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has handed over the investigation into the alleged paper leak of the Review Officer (RO)/ Assistant Review Officer (ARO) pre-examination held on Sunday, February 11, to the Special Task Force (STF). Additionally, the UPPSC has constituted an internal committee to investigate the case and submit a report to the commission.

According to reports, 2,387 centres were set up in 58 districts to conduct the examination. Out of the 10,76,004 applicants, 64 per cent of the candidates appeared for the examination on Sunday. During the pre-examination of RO-ARO of UPPSC, a candidate from Ram Anjor Mishra Inter College, Praveen Kumar Patel, was caught cheating with a Bluetooth device and subsequently handed over to the police. This incident led to other candidates creating a major ruckus at the exam centre in Ghazipur, alleging a paper leak.

Meanwhile, the UPPSC secretary, Ashok Kumar, mentioned the constitution of the internal committee to investigate the issue. He also stated that the commission has sent a formal recommendation to the state government requesting the STF to probe the matter.

The Review Officer/ Assistant Review Officer exam is conducted annually by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission to select candidates for vacant positions. It includes three stages of examination: Prelims, Mains and Skill Tests. The Preliminary exam holds a total of 200 marks, while the Mains exam has 400.

The official notification for UPPSC RO ARO recruitment 2024 was released by the commission on October 8, 2023, with the registration process commencing on October 9, 2023. The date for the Mains examination is yet to be announced.

As per the official notification, a total of 411 positions have been declared vacant by the commission, including 334 vacancies as Review Officers in the Secretariat, Police Service Commission and Board of Revenue, with the remaining seats vacant as Assistant Review Officers in the Secretariat and Public Service Commission.
