HYDERABAD: Retired Professor of Linguistics from Osmania University (OU) and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU), Prof. B Ramakrishna Reddy will receive the prestigious Padma Shri award for his contribution towards Literature and Education.
The 80-year-old professor will receive the honour for his immense contribution towards preservation of Tribal and Southern languages like Kuvi, Manda and Kui.
He has been largely successful in building a cultural bridge connecting tribal languages with other languages.
Prof. B Ramakrishna Reddy has also drafted Manda-English, Oriya-English dictionaries, while co-authoring 5 books towards his cause.
He is also the founder Registrar of Dravidian University, Kuppam.
