Partner Content | NBA prop picks January 30: Kyle Kuzma is poised for a huge night

The NBA starts off the week with a strong eight-game slate and we’ve got three prop picks to accompany it.

The pregame narrative: Kyle Kuzma is on a heater and that should continue against the San Antonio Spurs. We’re also backing Rudy Gobert to record a double-double and Kyrie Irving to pile up assists.

Find all our best NBA props picks for January 30 below.

Odds as of 10:07 a.m. ET on 01/30/2023.

NBA prop picks

Best Bet : Kuzma over 24.5 points (-103)

Simply put, we’re backing a hot player against a bad team.

Kuzma is averaging 25.7 points in his last seven games and has cleared this line in five of those contests. Washington’s small forward is coming off a poor 10-point showing, but that doesn’t concern us at all.

He’s a volume shooter that will get the opportunity to bounce back against the league’s worst defence tonight.

The Spurs allow the most points per game (122.2) and have the worst defensive rating (120.1) in the NBA. They also allow opponents to shoot a blistering 40% from beyond the arc, which — surprise, surprise — also ranks last.

That bodes well considering Kuzma has been letting it fly from deep during his hot streak. He’s attempting 11 3-pointers per game over his last seven contests and has made four-plus threes in five of those.

Expect him to get back on the horse against San Antonio’s non-existent defence.

Key stat: Prior to Saturday’s contest against the New Orleans Pelicans, Kuzma had cleared this line in four straight games.

Quick picks

Gobert double-double (-139): These odds are a bit juiced but it’s actually not a bad price for a player of Gobert’s calibre.

The big Frenchmen is averaging a double-double this season and has picked up seven in January alone.

He’s put up 10-plus points and 10-plus rebounds in three of his last four games. One of those contests was against the Sacramento Kings (13 points, 14 rebounds), who he plays tonight.

Irving over 6.5 assists (-120): Irving has recorded at least six assists in 11 straight games but has only gone over this mark in five of those contests.

That said, three of those instances have come in his last four games and we’re not worried about close calls tonight.

Los Angeles allows the ninth-most assists per game when on the road (26.1) and the 11th-most assists to point guards per game (8.78), according to Fantasy Pros.
