One of those new faces is 20-year-old off-spinner Aryan Dutt. He is playing for the Netherlands cricket team and has impressed everyone with his tight pace in the opening spell against Pakistan, this World Cup. This match happened at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. According to a Local 18 report, Aryan started his journey in cricket in Chandigarh under the mentorship of Amit Uniyal, a former Ranji and IPL player. Amit hails from Punjab.

Aryan trained under the guidance of Amit for every 6 months from 2013 to 2019. This started when Amit went to the Netherlands in 2012 to play club cricket. Cricketer Vikramjit Singh and Aryan Dutt’s father got to meet Amit in the Netherlands. The very next year, both Vikramjit and Amit started to receive training under the guidance of Amit. Now, Aryan and his father have invited Amit to watch the match at Dharamshala against South Africa.

In an interview with a portal, Amit said,” When Aryan started his training under me in 2013, he was a child, but now his shoe size has also become 12. He has had the desire to learn since the beginning.” Amit also said that Aryan had a word with him before playing the first match. According to him, he also leaves no stone unturned to act as a perfect guide for him in every aspect. Amit expressed hope that this World Cup will prove to be a cornerstone in Aryan’s career. Aryan used to be a fast bowler initially but then turned to off-spin. His team, the Netherlands, has been in poor form in the ongoing tournament.
