Janhvi Kapoor Recalls Heartbreaking Moment When She Learnt Sridevi Died: ‘I Barged into Khushi’s Room’ – News18

Janvhi Kapoor opened up about Sridevi’s death in the recent episode of Koffee With Karan 8. The actress appeared on the show with her sister, actress Khushi Kapoor, who was making her debut on the show. During the show, the sisters opened up about Sridevi’s passing when Janhvi revealed she learned about her death through a phone call at home and immediately ran to Khushi. The Devara star said that she heard Khushi wailing in her room. However, Khushi stopped crying the moment she noticed Janhvi was ‘hauling and crying.’

“When I got the call, I was in my room and I could hear wailing from Khushi’s room. I think I barged into her room, hauling and crying but what I do remember is she looked at me and the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just sat next to me and started comforting me and I’ve never seen her cry about it since,” Janhvi said, fighting back her tears.

Khushi added that she realised she had to hold it together for the family. “I felt like I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel like I’ve always been the strong one,” she said.

In another portion of the episode, Janhvi revealed Khushi shares similarities with Sridevi when it comes to work. “She is very quiet person and I think that is one thing she has in common with Mumma. But in front of the camera, she just explodes,” she said.

Sridevi died in February 2018 in Dubai. The actress was attending her Boney Kapoor’s nephew, Arjun Marwah’s wedding. It was later revealed that she died of accidental drowning. Her sudden death left the country in shock. It was also during this time that Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor, who are Janhvi and Khushi’s half-siblings, came to show their support to them.
