Toronto police warn dog owners of possible ‘hazardous substance’ at High Park

Toronto police say dog owners should be aware of a “possible hazardous substance” found at High Park.

On Tuesday, officers found dog food and patches of blue snow along the fence line of the off-leash area. While the majority of the substance was found in a separate “Forest Regeneration Zone,” and there were no reports of sick animals in the area, police collected samples for testing with Health Canada as precaution.

Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation has cleaned up the rest of the dog food and snow.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-1100, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com.
