Get those shovels out, you’re going to need them.
Environment Canada meteorologist Glenn Robinson says southern Ontario might get hit with “significant snowfall” starting on Wednesday afternoon and continuing into Thursday.
According to Robinson, Toronto and Ottawa can expect to see between 10 and 20 centimetres.
“Models are starting to show that we may get a fairly significant snowfall on Wednesday,” said Robinson.
Ontarians can also expect temperatures to cool off in the next few days as Robinson said it appears that we are returning to typical seasonal temperatures.
Environment Canada forecasts a high of 3 C and a low of -9 C this week.
Robinson added that the cooling temperatures are likely not related to the Siberian polar vortex affecting Western Canada this week.
“The polar vortex that was unusually cold (is) not coming here,” said Robinson. “I would just blame (the cold front) on a changing pattern.”
