For the exteriors, the changes are largely cosmetic. Gold, as the variant name suggests, is used to embellish certain body panels. Not literally though! Golden paint shade is sprayed on the tri-arrow grille, bezel around the HID headlamps, Safari-signature roof rails, door handles, and branding on the tailgate. The big change is in the brand-new 18-inch alloy wheels, which are treated in charcoal black. The Gold is limited to the 6-seater variant. That’s because Tata Motors has gone ahead with segment-first seat ventilation for the front and second-row captain seats. Much like the exterior, a golden hue is laid over the door handles, AC vents and logo on the steering unit. The #Gold finds prominence on the headrests.Gold edition offers two colour choices – black and white. Based on the body colour you choose, the dashboard will reflect the corresponding marble finish. Improving the tech aspect of Safari, Gold edition features wireless Apple Carplay, Android Auto and a charging facility.Tata Safari, at present, commands over half of the 3-row premium D-segment SUVs. The Gold Edition is an emphasise on taking the newer rivals head-on and also to strengthen Safari’s case for the festive season.
The engine choice continues to be the 2-litre diesel with manual and automatic transmissions.
