Tata Altroz i-Turbo comes equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine, which pumps out 110PS and 140Nm. The front-wheel-drive is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
A 0-100 kmph is claimed 11.9 seconds and mileage at 18.3 kmpl. Altroz iTurbo, the most affordable turbo-charged offering in the segment, will compete with the likes of Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
Tata Motors has also provided iRA connectivity to the top-end XZ+ trim, which allows telemetry, What3Words, location and security services.
The design remains the same, however, a marine blue paint job has been added. On the inside, the XZ+ trim comes with leatherette seats, Harman Kardon speakers and personalized wallpaper.
Tata Altroz secured a 5-star crash test rating at Global NCAP. Altroz also comes in 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine with a 5-speed manual. The DCT gearbox is expected soon.
Tata Motors will unveil the Safari on January 27. The company also announced price hike across the range of passenger vehicles up to Rs 26,000 to offset the increasing cost of raw materials.
