The electric scooter will be rolled out of its factory in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu and the total project outlay has been put at Rs 2,354 crore.
The plant set up over 500 acres of land is an integrated facility with manufacturing, battery as well as supplier parks, ensuring over 90 per cent of parts are localised and in close proximity.
Ola Electric scooters are likely to offer up to 150 kilometres on single charge, which is significantly higher than its prime rivals TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather 450X.
Ola earlier announced that its electric scooter has received a record-breaking 100,000 reservations within the first 24 hours, making it the most pre-booked scooter in the world.
Ola Electric opened the reservation for its electric scooter on the evening of July 15. It can be reserved for Rs 499 via its official website.
