NEW DELHI: Hyundai’s three-row Alcazar SUV, which was slated for launch on April 29, has been postponed to May 2021 due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
Hyundai, earlier in April, unveiled the Alcazar and disclosed engine and transmission details. Alcazar, which means castle in Spanish, is an extended, 3-row SUV derived from Creta.
Hyundai Alcazar will take on the likes of Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.

Alcazar will be offered in two engine options: 2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol is borrowed from Tucson and Elantra whereas the diesel is the same unit as the Creta and Verna.
Both the engines come with the option of automatic and manual transmissions.
Alcazar will sport both 6-seat and 7-seat options.
In terms of features, much like Creta, Alcazar will be a connected car and pack a sun roof. Ventilated front seats with electric adjustability, wireless charging, and digital driver’s display will also be in the mix.
