Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals, Indian Premier League 2021, 16th Match Match Details, Schedule, Summary |

Royal Challengers Bangalore: 1 Virat Kohli (capt), 2 Devdutt Padikkal, 3 Shahbaz Ahmed, 4 Glenn Maxwell, 5 AB de Villiers (wk), 6 Kyle Jamieson, 7 Washington Sundar, 8 Harshal Patel, 9 Kane Richardson, 10 Mohammed Siraj, 11 Yuzvendra Chahal

Rajasthan Royals: 1 Jos Buttler, 2 Manan Vohra, 3 Sanju Samson (capt & wk), 4 Shivam Dube, 5 David Miller, 6 Riyan Parag, 7 Rahul Tewatia, 8 Chris Morris, 9 Shreyas Gopal, 10 Chetan Sakariya, 11 Mustafizur Rahman

Nikhil : “Would have gone with any one of the Dan’s. Is it just me or anyone else feels batting looks a little weak if there is a collapse? cannot see Jamieson /sundar /shabaz Ahmed playing a long innings. Yes they can tonk a few , but still. What are your thoughts? “

7.13pm What do you all make of Shreyas Gopal’s return? Has good numbers against AB – 30 runs, 34 balls, 4 dismissals – and has got Kohli a couple of times – 47 runs, 30 balls, 3 dismissals. Hasn’t dismissed any batsmen in this tournament as much as he’s got them, but hasn’t quite come through for RR since last season.

Sami: “I’m confused as to why RCB arent playing Finn Allen or Dan Sams. Allen would be very valuable in such a high scoring ground and Sams is an all rounder we saw how valuable that was yesterday.”

Vishnu: “When are they going to play M Azharuddin?Would be great to have ABD fielding rather than keeping wickets and have Azhar keep.”

Sumit : “It would be an interesting game to watch…special eyes on ex players of RCB i.e. Morris and Shivam”

Shrinidhi: “Was there any “toss” training in Bangalore camp for Kohli? All of sudden he started winning toss in every match. I still remember last 4 matches of 2020 where he lost each toss and forced to bat first and losing all of them”

Pravesh: “Kohli instinctively agrees that he lost the toss even when he wins it.”

Samson: It’s all about playing with your heart when you play a tournament like the IPL, there will be ups and downs. Shreyas Gopal comes in in place of Jaydev Unadkat.

Kohli: We’ve seen dew here, continues to be a high scoring ground. We’ve been batting well and we’re very confident that we can chase anything down. Same with the bowling as well, we can exploit this pitch. It’s very exciting for me as a batsman (coming into this pitch), not sure about the bowlers – we have to make the most with the new ball. Rajat Patidar misses out. Kane Richardson comes in. He has change-ups and extra bounce.

Kohli wins the toss and walks away – a reflex, because he says he’s not used to winning them!

7pm Royal Challengers Bangalore have elected to bowl.

6.55pm Five minutes to toss and here are tonight’s fantasy XI suggestions with Daniel Vettori and Gaurav Sundararaman.

Ram: “@Mustafa Moudi: Maxwell’s 100th Six not 200th in IPL… he is at 99 now.”

Ganesh: “Come on Sanju, unleash kartik tyagi. You need a genuine pace, not trundlers”

Mustafa Moudi : “This will be RCB’s 200 IPL Match. It would be icing on the Cake if Kohli get to 6000 Runs, De Villiers Reached 5000 Runs and Maxi Smashes 200th Sixes, All in IPL. Pretty excited for this ROYAL night !!”

6.48pm Should RCB bring in Saini? And is the Shreyas Gopal hex on Virat and AB still valid? Vettori and Agarkar discuss.

Craigy: “Kinda disappointed Finn Allen, this would be a good match for him to come in and make impact with these smallish boundaries. Guess it wasn’t meant to be…”

Jeetu: “Rooting for RR simply because their win makes the standings interesting even this early in the season “

RajatMaheshwari: “With Washington quite under-utilized this season and with this being Wankhede, expecting Saini to come in for Sundar! Him and Jamieson bowling in tandem at Wankhede should be a delight!”

Sameer k: “Disappointed with boring updated would have been exciting to see Fin Allen at top.”

6.40pm Huddle time for RCB. Somebody’s late to the meeting…and it also looks like no caps are being handed. A boring update. Let’s see what the Royals have for us…a very tight circular formation. A Sangakkara talk. A lot of nodding heads but, alas, no new caps on any of them.

Pranav: “I am gunning for the law of averages to strike. Virat scores a masterful 50, RCB fail to chase 170 made possible by Dube’s heroics at the end.”

Abhijato: “Glenn Maxwell had something going on there with the Orange Cap at the moment. No one would have given the two of them a chance again after the last few years, but you know what they say about true love – it’s destined to be! A consistent enough season from a consistent batting position for RCB, and people might very well realise his true value to the IPL again.”

Rahul Gupta : “Will Bowling for RCB be a challenge as dew will show its presence yet again? “

Khush: “RCB shouldn’t change their team up too much, apart from Shabhaz out and Christian in, due to venue change, they should keep the same eleven.”

Thomas: “If I were Kohli, I’m aiming to take over this game not because I have to but because I WANT to. It’s been ages since he’s been in a position like this with everyone around him delivering”

6.30pm Good evening and welcome back to our coverage of the IPL. Royal Challengers were top of the table until last evening. They’re now second place, but with a game in hand, and are the only team this season with an unbeaten record. Music to the ears of many an RCB tragic, but not quite so for Rajasthan Royals who have one win in three games, and possibly a lingering feeling that it could so easily have been two or more if their batting had shown more resolve. Captain Sanju Samson’s message to his batters has been one of reaffirmation though – will they come through tonight, as RCB’s bowlers face a test in new conditions? Alagappan Muthu examines that in the match preview: Inconsistent Rajasthan Royals look to break Royal Challengers Bangalore’s unbeaten run
