TOP STORY: Liverpool tracking Wolves star Traore

Liverpool could be ready to make their next move in the transfer market, with Football Insider reporting that the club have enquired about Wolves winger Adama Traore.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp is keen on the Spain international, who was linked with a move to Anfield in 2020 after an impressive Premier League campaign. Now, after scoring just two goals and putting on two assists last season in 37 appearances, Liverpool could now look to negotiate a lower transfer fee than the £35 million that was rumoured back in January.

While Traore played just 13 minutes of Spain‘s Euro 2020 campaign (as a substitute against Slovakia) before his nation bowed out on penalties to Italy on Tuesday night, the winger could add versatility to Liverpool’s front three, having impressed on both sides of the pitch.

The 25-year-old would join former teammate Diogo Jota, who made the move from Wolves to Liverpool last summer for £41m.

Cesar also lists Atlanta United, who are coached by Tevez’s former Argentina teammate Gabriel Heinze, and Minnesota United, who have a pair of “El Apache’s” Boca Juniors teammates in Emanuel Reynoso and Ramon Ábila.

Tevez last month told Boca he would not be returning but left the door open to continue playing.

“I don’t know whether to say I’m retiring, because in three months Maybe I wake up wanting to play and return to the courts. But not with the Boca jersey, that is not anymore,” he said in his farewell conference.

20.27 BST: Could Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli be the man to fill Arsenal’s central midfield void?

Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali has revealed that the Italian club is in negotiations with a foreign club regarding the £34 million-rated Italy international.

“We’re in talks for Locatelli with one club from abroad… and it’s really advanced,” Carnevali said on Sky Italia, as relayed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

“We’re going to meet with Juventus in the next days, but there are no negotiations yet with Juve as Italian clubs are in difficult financial situation.”

Arsenal and Juventus have been the two club most commonly linked with Locatell, with the 23-year-old reportedly keen on joining the Old Lady.

19.41 BST: England women’s international forward Jodie Taylor is on her way to join the NWSL’s Orlando Pride, the club announced today. The Pride acquired the NWSL rights to Taylor, who spent last season playing for Lyon, from the North Carolina Courage in February.

“Jodie is a proven goalscorer and has carried that across every club and every league she’s played for and in, and the value of her experience and professionalism is immeasurable,” Orlando Pride general manager Ian Fleming said.

In her previous stint in the NWSL with OL Reign from 2018-20, Taylor scored 14 goals in 40 appearances and now spend the remainder of the 2021 season with Orlando.

Taylor has been part of England’s senior side since 2014, scoring 19 times in 54 appearances for the Lionesses, including a goal against Argentina in the group stage of the 2019 World Cup.

18.58 BST: Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena is set to join Getafe in a deal worth around €5m, sources have confirmed to ESPN.

Alena, 23, has agreed a five-year deal with Getafe, where he spent last season on loan. A source says Barca will also be due a “large percentage” of any future sale.

After coming through the La Masia academy, Alena went on to make 44 appearances for Barca’s first team. However, he found regular action hard to come by and spent the last two seasons on loan at La Liga sides Real Betis and Getafe.

He will become the latest player to leave Barca this summer as they look to bring in transfer fees and reduce the wage bill to make room within the league-imposed spending limit to register new signings and a new deal for Lionel Messi.

Jean-Clair Todibo, Konrad de le Fuente and Junior Firpo have all moved on since the season ended, in addition to B team defender Sergio Akieme, for a total of €30m, not including add-ons.

Francisco Trincao has also left the club, joining Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan with an option to buy, while Matheus Fernandes has been released.

Sky understands that the two clubs are deep in negotiations that will see Anderson return to the club he left in 2018 for a then club-record £35 million. The 28-year-old who factored in on 15 goals during his debut season on London, struggled in his sophomore campaign before being loaned out to Porto.

Lazio, now managed by Maurizio Sarri, will reportedly pay €3 million for Anderson, with West Ham having a 50 percent sell-on clause.

16.24 BST: The Daily Telegraph reports that Birmingham are close to agreeing deal for Tahith Chong to join the club on loan from Man United.

Chong, 21, has struggled for first-team football at United but rejected interest from Inter Milan and Juventus to sign a new contract in 2020.

The Netherlands U21 winger arrived at United from Feyenoord in 2016 and spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, then Club Brugge.

Sources told ESPN that talks are ongoing over the transfer fee and Arsenal had a £40m offer rejected last month as Brighton stood by their valuation of £50m for the 23-year-old, who was a surprise inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.

White is thought to be open on a move but Arsenal could face competition from several Premier League rivals for his signature amid speculation Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United are interested.

Things may be a step closer with personal terms agreed, but that’s usually the easiest part of a transfer.

14.17 BST: Paris Saint-Germain have been on a rampage in the transfer market, landing Georginio Wijnaldum and Sergio Ramos on free transfers (with Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to follow) and paying €70m to sign Inter full-back Achraf Hakimi.

However, L’Equipe claims the French club are also keen to land Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba, 28, is out of contract next summer so his transfer fee will be lower now. PSG will have to move fast though, as Real Madrid and Juventus have been monitoring Pogba for some time.

14.00 BST: L’Equipe reports that Liverpool are looking to sign Lille’s Renato Sanches this summer.

Sanches, 23, flopped after an €80m move to Bayern from Benfica in 2016 but has rediscovered his best form at Lille and starred for Portugal at Euro 2020.

The midfielder has two years left on his contract, with Lille reportedly ready to accept around €35m in transfer fee for his services.

10.06 BST: Sergio Ramos has joined Paris Saint-Germain after agreeing a two-year deal at the club, it was announced on Thursday.

Ramos, 35, left Real Madrid when his contract expired on June 30 after failing to agree an extension, bringing an end to 16 years at the club.

Ramos had wanted a two-year deal. His wages at PSG are set to be lower than what he was earning in Spain and what he would have earned had he stayed at the Bernabeu.

10.03 BST: Gremio have confirmed the return of Luiz Felipe Scolari after agreeing a contract until December 2022.

The former Chelsea, Portugal and Brazil manager is ready for his fourth spell at the Porto Alegre club where he won the Brazilian league, Brazilian cup and even the 1995 Copa Libertadores during his previous spells.

However, Scolari will have a tougher job this time as Gremio are bottom of the table with only two points from eight games.

09.48 BST: Barcelona have signed centre-back Irene Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract.

Paredes, 29, won the French league title last season and the Spain captain joins a Barcelona side who just completed the treble of league, cup and Champions League.

“I’m delighted to come to a club that has just made history,” she said. “I’m here to contribute and hope the team can get even stronger. It’s a completely different team to the one I used to face with Athletic five or so years ago. Anyone can see that it’s grown as a club and individually. The players have worked hard but they have got the results.”

“I spoke to a lot of the players on the national team. They have said good things about the club and its plans, and they obviously helped me to make my decision.”

09.45 BST: River Plate have completed the signing of Braian Romero from Defensa y Justicia.

The 30-year-old forward is expected to fill the void left by the departure of Santos Borre to Eintracht Frankfurt. Romero attracted the attention of River following an impressive spell at Defensa y Justicia, having scored 21 goal in 33 appearances since joining them on loan from Independiente.

09.17 BST: Paris Saint-Germain accidentally confirmed the signing of Sergio Ramos on their official website before deleting the post minutes later.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side posted an article where they announced that Ramos will wear the No. 4 shirt, which currently belongs to Thilo Kehrer, and included some quotes from the former Real Madrid captain.

“This No. 4, I appreciate it a lot out of superstition, because I had it from the start of my career, and then it accompanied me throughout my life, continued [with] me, brought good luck, and a lot of victories.” Ramos said. “Now No. 4 is part of me as a person and as a professional. For me, it’s a privilege to be able to wear this number in such a great team, Paris Saint-Germain. So it will be very special to be able to wear my number here in Paris.”

The post was later deleted, but Ramos is expected to be confirmed as new PSG signing today. ESPN reported earlier this week that he was set to join the Ligue 1 giants on a free transfer after agreeing a two-year contract.

08.53 BST: United States forward Indiana Vassilev was loaned from Aston Villa to Inter Miami CF on Wednesday for the rest of the Major League Soccer season.

The 20-year-old from Savannah, Georgia, made his Aston Villa debut against Fulham in the FA Cup on Jan. 4, 2020, and made his Premier League debut that Jan. 18 at Brighton.

“Indiana is an exciting young talent who has a lot of potential,” Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said in a club statement. “He’s comfortable and confident on the ball and fluid with his movement. We feel this is the right place for Indiana to further his development and reach his potential.”

08.30 BST: Arsenal are considering reviving their pursuit of Lyon’s Houssem Aouar but will need to offload at least one more midfielder before making a formal offer, sources have told ESPN’s James Olley.

It is understood that the 23-year-old is on the Gunners’ shortlist but contrary to reports in France, they are yet to make a firm bid this summer. That is at least in part because Arsenal are looking to overhaul their midfield options and need to move existing players on before pursuing other targets.

Matteo Guendouzi has joined Marseille in an initial loan deal which is expected to become permanent, while the club are in talks over Granit Xhaka‘s move to Roma and are also open to offers for Lucas Torreira.

Martin Odegaard will not be returning after his loan spell from Real Madrid ended while there is uncertainty over the futures of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock among others.

The Gunners are in advanced talks to sign Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht — with the two clubs are thought to be on the brink of agreeing a fee of around £15m plus add-ons — but any further outgoings would help generate space funds for a move to sign Aouar.

Sources have told ESPN that Lyon would be willing to accept a fee in the region of €25m. It is also claimed that the Gunners are likely to face competition from several clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and an unnamed Spanish team.

PAPER GOSSIP (by Adam Brown)

Internazionale are set to block any further exits from the club after confirming the €70m exit of Achraf Hakimi to PSG. Fabrizio Romano writes that Simone Inzaghi will not allow any further players to leave amid recent interest in Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. Inter are looking to secure a new contract for Argentina star Martinez, who is set to take part in the Copa America final against Brazil at the weekend.

– The future of Franck Kessie is unclear with the midfielder yet to agree a new contract with AC Milan, writes Calciomercato. The report says that clubs including Juventus and Internazionale have signalled their interest in the Ivory Coast international who has been capturing the eyes of Europe’s top clubs since becoming a regular at San Siro. The 24-year-old scored 13 goals and assisted three while playing in the No. 6 position for Milan last season.

Elseid Hysaj will sign a contract with Lazio after becoming a free agent this summer. Calciomercato says that the deal will soon be announced, with Maurizio Sarri keen on the Napoli full-back. The 27-year-old predominantly plays on the left side of the defence but is versatile, having played from the right flank during his 29 appearances for Napoli last season.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Genoa could look to sign Asmir Begovic. The goalkeeper is available on a free transfer this summer after spending last season with Bournemouth where the club failed to gain promotion to the Premier League. The 34-year-old has some Serie A experience after a loan spell with AC Milan in 2020.

– PSG are keen on tempting Lazio’s Joaquin Correa to the Parc des Princes, according to Le10 Sport. The attacker contributed to 16 goals in 33 games in the Serie A last season, and it is reported that Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add the Argentine striker to his offensive arsenal. A deal will cost in the region of €45m.

AS Roma are close to confirming the signing of Wolves’ Rui Patricio in a deal worth €13m, says Fabrizio Romano. The Portugal goalkeeper has been on the radar of the Italian club since Jose Mourinho took charge and will replace Pau Lopez who looks set to join Marseille.
