PV Sindhu’s semi-final against Tai Tzu-ying will be the biggest match of the day for India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Saturday, July 31. While archer Atanu Das and boxer Pooja Rani will be in medal contention, the women’s hockey team face a must-win game against South Africa. Meanwhile, shooters Tejaswini Sawant and Anjum Moudgil will be also be eyeing medals, and boxer Amit Panghal begins his campaign in the round of 16.

08.45 AM — HOCKEY: Women’s pool A will see a crucial match between India and South Africa. India will go through if they beat South Africa and Ireland lose to Great Britain. If both India and Ireland win, the team with the better goal difference goes through. Ireland are currently ahead of India on that count by three goals. [Ireland play Great Britain at 5.15 PM]
