PV Sindhu defeated Hong Kong’s Cheung Ngan Yi 21-9, 21-16 to top Group J and advance to knockouts.
Tarundeep Rai lost 6-5 to Israel’s Itay Shanny in the second round (round of 32) of the men’s individual event.
Women’s pool A: India lost 4-1 to Great Britain
Pravin Jadhav vs Galsan Bazarzhapov (ROC) at 12.30 PM.
The Indian men had a disappointing ranking round and will be hoping to pull off a surprise or two. Jadhav finished the highest at 31 and Tarundeep the lowest at 37. The third in the fray Atanu Das, finished 35th, starts on July 29, Thursday.
