Get Ball by Ball Commentary of Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings, Indian Premier League 2021, 15th Match |

Nishant: “While Ruturaj might have been in good form recently, I think Dhoni is missing the trick by not giving him a break. Moeen as opener could open up a space in middle order for K Gowtham. This would add a bowler as well as a good striker in the middle to lower half.”

Navin: “CSK are back to where they belong !! Don’t see them missing out playoffs this season. They have the right balance of everything, I have seen people claiming Thala to be the weak link, hope he proves them wrong sooner than later. Would be a challenging task for KKR to bring down CSK in the current form.”

Vivaan : “Hmmm… Bangladesh dominating a Test match at Pallekele and Shakib misses out here, he won’t be happy” — I’m sure my colleague and Shakib super fan Anuj Vignesh isn’t happy with KKR’s move either. Shakib is Anuj’s second-favourite player behind Mushfiqur Rahim

Dhruv : “Dhoni and CSK really need to be flexible here. Leaving out an in-form batsman and powerplay batting specialist like Uthappa just because Ruturaj was in good form 6 months ago simply doesn’t make any sense. They need a strong start. “

7pm KKR win the toss and choose to bowl

CSK: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (capt&wk), Sam Curran, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi

KKR: Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan (capt), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Prasidh Krishna

Morgan: On this ground, this [chasing] seems the fashion and hopefully change of ground brings a change of fortune. It’s normally a really good wicket and Chennai are obviously a strong team. Hopefully, looking for a performance tonight and looking for a fresh mindset. In hindsight, chasing in Chennai hasn’t suited us. In this ground, chasing has been productive. Harbhajan misses out, Nagarkoti is in. Narine is back in for Shakib.

Dhoni. Again [the pitch is] a bit tacky, so we have to be watchful for the first few overs. There was less dew last game, so spinners were free to bowl what they wanted to bowl. If you get too much dew, then lengths are different. We’ve rested Bravo for this game, so Ngidi comes in.

6.55pm Dhoni engages in a kickabout with Bravo and Jagadeesan. Reportedly, his parents have tested positive for Covid-19 in Ranchi, but he has stayed back with the CSK squad in Mumbai.

Sriram: “If CSK bats first, I just want to see Sam curran and Faf play the Powerplay instead of Ruturaj! “

Mustafa Moudi : “I demand umpire must check Jadeja’s pockets properly beofre the match, surely he must be having a magnet in his pocket. That could only be reason why, wherever the RR Batsmen had hit last match, the ball only reached Jadeja!!”

6.50pm Ten minutes to go for the toss. If you’re into fantasy cricket, here are some suggestions from Dale Steyn

6.40pm RajatMaheshwari: “Two WC winning captains are up against each other! Both are not in the greatest of forms but both the teams had a contrasting starting few games in this year IPL! Expecting Shakib to play and play ahead of DK at 5 to let DK play the finisher role! With CSK, think MS will go ahead with the same team as he does so often! With this being KKR first match at Wankhede in this IPL, expecting some of their batsman to return to form on the more friendly batting track! Are we in for another run-fest?”

Raghu ACC: “I know the answer to this one, but anyways. What’s the chance of Parasakthi Express Imran Tahir playing in this match. I am dying to see him take a wicket and take a lap around Wankhede.” — Again, do you really expect Dhoni and Fleming to fiddle with the XI after two wins? Tahir does have a good head-to-head record against Russell, though

Ram: “Behrendorff would be a good option today. What do you think Deiva?” — The Dorff is still in quarantine, so he’s not available for selection yet.

Avinash: “Not too sure of keeping an international player as captain. Morgan could have easily been replaced by Narine at any point of time. This model may not work for KKR for too long.”

Ray: “Dhoni is not the chop’n’change type of guy, so I don’t see Ruturaj going out and Uthappa coming in” — Absolutely. In his last press conference, Fleming said that Gaikwad has earned a longer rope with how he bounced back from Covid-19 in IPL 2020. I, too, don’t see CSK making a change in the XI today

Mustafa Moudi : “Its KKR v CSK and I am excited about NARINE v DHONI Battle. Hope KKR Picks him tonight. KKR were too harsh on him by not picking in Chennai where Spinners get assistance !!” — Narine wasn’t available for the Chennai leg. Will Dhoni finally score his first boundary off Narine this evening? Varun and Narine could pose CSK a big threat even though they bat deep. Remember how the master and his protégé pulled off a coup vs CSK last year?

Abhijato: “Just one wish from today’s match: I want to see more of Sam Curran, especially in the death overs. He needs to bat ahead of a few fellow team-mates, no matter who they are, when the final five overs start.”

6.30pm Hello and welcome to ESPNcricinfo’s live coverage of match 15 in IPL 2021. After losing two of their three matches at Chepauk, the Kolkata Knight Riders will face a more settled Chennai Super Kings side that has won two of their three games at the Wankhede. Will a change of venue result in a change of personnel and fortunes for KKR?

At the end of KKR’s Chennai leg, their coach Brendon McCullum revealed that Sunil Narine had been nursing a niggle and will come back into the mix at some point. If Narine’s fit, he could slot in for Shakib Al Hasan. Lockie Ferguson’s extra pace and bounce could also be an alluring option at the Wankhede against CSK. Sreshth Shah sets up the scene in the preview. I’m Deivarayan Muthu and I’ll bring you the ball-by-ball action from Wankhede.
