‘Robbery.’ Raptors fans in uproar after Pascal Siakam’s NBA all-star snub

Raptors star forward Pascal Siakam has not been selected to participate in this year’s NBA All-Star Game in Utah and fans are outraged.

Siakam arguably is having his best season to date, averaging 24.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 47 per cent through 43 games this season. The points and assists averages are career highs.

Toronto will have just one representative in Utah for all-star weekend, with reigning rookie of the year Scottie Barnes taking part in the Rising Stars Challenge.

The all-star reserves were announced Thursday, with NBA coaches adding Philadelphia centre Joel Embiid, Boston guard Jaylen Brown, Miami centre Bam Adebayo, Milwaukee guard Jrue Holiday, Chicago forward DeMar DeRozan, New York forward Julius Randle and Indiana guard Tyrese Halliburton to the Eastern Conference selections.

The 28-year-old Siakam has been in one All-Star Game, in 2019-20, the same season was he named to the All-NBA second team.

The all-star snub this year has fans distraught, as Siakam is one of just four players in the league to have recorded more than 1,000 points, 250 rebounds and 250 assists.

Here’s how people are reacting:
