PSG boss Luis Enrique reveals smart way of dodging Kylian Mbappe questions

PSG boss Luis Enrique has revealed his formula to avoid the barrage of questions on Kylian Mbappe’s future ahead of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg tie away to Real Sociedad.

Mbappe’s future has been the centre of attraction around PSG matches, with reports suggesting he is on the verge of leaving the club in the summer. The French superstar has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times, with certain reports stating that he has already agreed a move with the Spanish giants.

However, Enrique had decided to avoid questions about Mbappe, and did seem agitated at times with them during the press conference ahead of the UCL tie. The PSG boss went on to joke with the translator claiming that he wasn’t understanding the questions.

Speaking to the reporters, as quoted by Reuters, Enrique said he just answers the questions that he wants despite being bombarded with queries about Mbappe’s future.

“It’s very easy to manage (the flood of Mbappe questions), I just take whatever questions the journalists want and answer whatever I want, that’s my formula,” Luis Enrique told a press conference at San Sebastian on Monday.

“The match is so important that there are no comments to be made (about Mbappe).”

Champions League second legs are all difficult: Enrique

Enrique explained why he is trying to avoid distractions ahead of the UCL tie as he doesn’t want his side to come out clueless in the tough match away from home against Sociedad.

“Champions League second legs are all difficult, the result we have is good, but it’s misleading if you don’t come out with the right attitude. If you come out clueless, you’ll drown in misery, that’s what I’m trying to avoid,” Luis Enrique said, aware of the raucous atmosphere that PSG will face at a sold-out Reale Arena.

Since scoring the winner against Nantes on February 17, Mbappe has been taken off by Enrique twice in consecutive games. In the draw against Monaco, the PSG boss took off the French superstar at half-time and said it was his decision.
