Someone egged John Tory’s office on his last day as mayor.
In a video captured by Global News, a person with a long ponytail wearing a cowboy hat appears in front of the gated perimeter in front of the doors at city hall.
The person fumbles for something in their jean jacket pockets, before proceeding to throw four eggs against Tory’s office window, while Tory was seated at his desk inside his office at city hall.
“Yo dude, how come you did that?” the Global journalist can be heard asking the person, who turns back briefly before strolling casually out of city hall with hands in their jean pockets.
The Global journalist zooms up to Tory, again, sitting at his desk reading a newspaper appearing unfazed by the egg residue smeared against the glass.
Toronto police tells the Star they were made aware of the incident at 8:14 a.m. and it is currently under investigation.
Tory announced on Wednesday that he will cease being mayor on Friday at 5 p.m. after a Star investigation revealed an extended affair between Tory, 68, and one of his former staffers, 31.
Tory met Thursday with city staff and Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie, who will be his temporary successor.
