Partner Content | NBA prop picks March 13: Fade Fox’s assists total against Bucks

A hearty seven-game NBA slate gives prop bettors plenty of options. We’ve zeroed in on three.

The pregame narrative: De’Aaron Fox is in a fade-worthy matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, while Jayson Tatum should be a smash play against the Houston Rockets. Also, Dillon Brooks has proven he can get buckets without Ja Morant around.

NBA prop picks

Best Bet : Brooks over 13.5 points (-124)

Despite his scoring average sitting at a four-year low, Brooks still scores more points per game (14.3) than this line is asking for. And he’s been notably more productive with Morant out of the lineup.

  • With Morant (49 games): 13.5 PPG, 13.1 shot attempts/game
  • Without Morant (11 games): 17.5 PPG, 17.5 shot attempts/game

Brooks is a starter on the Grizzlies either way, and his playing time has been negligibly higher with Morant on the sidelines. But the opportunity uptick is obvious.

The Mississauga, Ont., native is coming off an eight-point game on Saturday, which is the one time he’s really struggled in Morant’s absence. In the other 10 games without Memphis’ embattled superstar, Brooks has scored 13 or more points each time.

One key differentiator is his willingness to shoot from 3-point range. With Morant, Brooks averages 5.5 attempts per game; without Morant, that average soars to 7.6.

With that in mind, we’re also keen on Brooks over 1.5 threes (-141) for tonight. But given the extra juice on that prop, we’ll stick to his points wager as our primary recommendation.

Key stat: Brooks has gone over 13.5 points in eight of 11 games without Morant this season.

Quick picks

Tatum over 3.5 threes (+102) : The Rockets allow 3-pointers at a high volume and high efficiency, making this price on Tatum’s threes prop too good to pass up.

Tatum splashed six 3-pointers against the Rockets when he faced them just after Christmas, and he’s on quite a tear again now.

The power forward is 17-of-41 (41.5%) from deep in just his past three games, and he’s cleared this line in four of his last five.

Fox under 6.5 assists (-132) : Going over this line would require Fox to slightly exceed his assists average (6.3 per game), and that feels unlikely against a strong defensive team like the Bucks.

Milwaukee allows the second-fewest assists per game (22.9), including the fewest to point guards, per FantasyPros. Fox had just two assists against the Bucks earlier this year, and he’s fallen below this line in 33 of 59 games (55.9%).
