Vedang Raina and Alizeh Agnihotri have won Best Debut (Male and Female) for The Archies and Farrey respectively.

Vedang Raina and Alizeh Agnihotri have won Best Debut (Male and Female) for their respective films, The Archies and Farrey at the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024. The awards were held on March 9 in Mumbai to celebrate the exemplary performances in the Hindi film industry this year.

Vedang Raina won the award for Best Debut (Male) for his performance in The Archies. He played the role of Reggie in Zoya Akhtar’s adaptation of the popular comic. Vedang made his debut alongside Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda and Yuvraj Menda. His performance was appreciated by the audience and the critics alike.

Meanwhile, Alizeh Agnihotri won the Best Debut (Female) for her role in the thriller drama Farrey. She played the character of Niyati, who lives in an orphanage and leaves no stone unturned to make a life for herself in Delhi after acing her 10th standard Board Examination.

Vedang and Alizeh’s performances proved their acting prowess, and the two stars were adjudged as the best debut performers by our esteemed jury. The jury of News18 Showsha Reel Awards this year comprises the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi, filmmaker Aanand L Rai, actors Kabir Bedi and Meenakshi Seshadri, directors Neeraj Ghaywan and Anvitaa Dutt and News18’s Entertainment Editor Tavishi Paitandy.

The News18 Showsha Reel Awards soared to greater heights this year. The awards honoured and applauded the best of content across cinema and OTT. In a world where narratives unfold across various screens, it was a moment to recognise the brilliance that captivates, entertains, and leaves a lasting impact.

Several big celebrities including Karan Johar, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Shankar Mahadevan among others also attended the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024.
