PM Modi in Assam, Says ‘If We Work for Everyone, It’s Called Communalism’


As polling day gets closer, the election campaign is heating up. It is a busy day for leaders with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tamulpur in Assam, and Tarakeshwar and Sonarpur in West Bengal. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will also be addressing several public meetings in West Bengal including one in Uluberia, Howrah, Diamond Harbour and Kultali.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee will be campaigning in South 24 Parganas, Hooghly, and Howrah.

TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee will campaign in the Hooghly and South 24 Parganas as well.

Meanwhile, TMC’s Sougata Roy has said, “We criticise the way central forces have been working here. We’ll be bound protest if EC doesn’t act on the issues.”

A BJP delegation also met the Election Commiossion in Kolkata asking how chief minister Mamata Banerjee could stage a dharna at a polling booth. The party filed a complaint with chief electoral officer of West Bengal.
