Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) has started the registration process for the Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test (MGU CAT) 2024 for admission to postgraduate (PG) programmes on February 15. Eligible candidates can complete the registration process by visiting the university’s official website at cat.mgu.ac.in. The registration window will remain open until March 30, providing eligible candidates with ample time to submit their applications.
The aptitude test for securing admissions to Masters in Technology (MTech), Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and other postgraduate programmes, is scheduled to take place on May 17 and 18. To start the registration process, candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,200. However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories hailing from Kerala will enjoy a reduced fee of Rs 600 for each program or cluster of programmes listed as a single option.
As per the notification issued by the Institute, “Candidates need to register only one application for a maximum of four different programmes. However, the candidate needs to pay separate application fees for different programmes. If a candidate submits more than one online application, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.”

Admission to the MBA program at MGU for the academic year 2024 follows a different process. It’s not based on the CAT 2024 conducted by MGU. Instead, MBA admissions consider scores from tests like CMAT, CAT, or KMAT, along with Group Discussion and Interview performance. The School of Management and Business Studies at MGU follows AICTE and Admission Supervisory Committee norms for MBA admissions.
