Meet the jury of News18 Showsha Reel 2024 Awards.

News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024’s jury members features some of the biggest names in Bollywood: Prasoon Joshi, Aanand L Rai, Meenakshi Seshadri, Kabir Bedi, Neeraj Ghaywan and Anvitaa Dutt.

News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024 are back and so is its jury comprising film industry stalwarts. With the awards set to happen on March 9, News18 has roped in some of the most influential names from Bollywood to pick the winners. The seven-member jury will meet soon to pick their choices for the best performances of 2023.

The jury comprises the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi, filmmaker Aanand L Rai, actors Kabir Bedi and Meenakshi Seshadri, directors Neeraj Ghaywan and Anvitaa Dutt and News18’s Entertainment Editor Tavishi Paitandy.

Prasoon Joshi, a poet, screenwriter, and advertising professional, has won the National Award twice and is also a Padma Shri awardee. Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has delivered some of the biggest hits in the last decade in Raanjhanaa, Tanu Weds Manu, and Atrangi Re. Joining them are director-writer Anvitaa Dutt and Neeraj Ghaywan – both critically acclaimed film personalities.

Having given us beautiful works like Bulbbul and Qala, Anvitaa has an eye for nuanced performers which would only help us pick the deserving winner. With projects like Masaan, Sacred Games, and Made in Heaven, Neeraj Ghaywan adds a unique flavour to this jury. With his knack for storytelling, it would be interesting to see who he picks as winners.

Our jury would be incomplete without actors Kabir Bedi and Meenakshi Seshadri. Having done unconventional roles in various films, we look forward to seeing their take on the performances and films of 2023.

And finally, our last jury member is Tavishi Paitandy, News18’s Entertainment Editor. Having binged through several series last year and spent most weekends at the movies, she perfectly rounds off our seven-member jury panel.

Over to the jury. May the best performances and films win!
