Gurleen Pannu, a prominent Indian comedian, has reshaped the comedy scene in India. She has captivated audiences with her sharp humour and witty storytelling. Early Life
Gurleen Pannu, born in Chandigarh in 1996, embarked on her comedy journey driven by a passion that blossomed during her formative years. Raised in a family where laughter was a constant presence, she was introduced to the delights of humour from an early age. She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Microbial and Food Technology, having graduated from Chandigarh University.
The Comedy Quest Begins
Gurleen’s first foray into comedy was marked by her participation in college talent shows and open mic nights. Her talent for making people laugh soon became evident as she consistently left audiences in splits with her hilarious anecdotes and sharp observations. It was during this time that she realised her calling and decided to pursue comedy as a full-time career.
Career
Gurleen began writing her own jokes when she was in college and performed them on stage. She believes that comedy is not as popular in India as it is in other countries. In 2021, she got a chance to be on a comedy show called “Comedy Sketch Show” on an online platform. Gurleen wrote funny scripts for this show for two years. Comedian and writer Gursimran Kamba introduced her to the show.

This was the first time she worked as a writer, and it kept her very busy for two years. She learned a lot from this experience. When college ended in 2021 during the lockdown, she started her own YouTube channel. She worked hard on her channel and created her own funny content. Then, in 2021, she accidentally went to an interview for “Comicstaan season 3″ in Mumbai. People liked her a lot, and she didn’t expect that she would ever be chosen to work on Comicstaan.
