A video of a man sleeping on a functional railway track in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj has surfaced online which has garnered the attention of the netizens.
In the video shared on X, the man holding an umbrella can be seen falling asleep on a functional railway track. Soon a train approached the track on which this man was resting, but it stopped just in time due to the alertness of the loco pilot and saved the man from getting crushed under the speeding transport.

The loco pilot stopped the train in time. He then stepped down on a note of humanity and woke the asleep man up. The man was later removed from the track and then the train passed through.
According to the Free Press Journal report, the incident took place in the Mau Aimma area of Prayagraj district under Northern Railway Lucknow division where despite honking, the asleep man failed to respond.

One of the users suggested the man was inebriated, while another called for a serious investigation into the matter and implementation of proper railway safety norms. One user wrote the man was “only trying to get his life on track”.
Some netizens also acknowledged the efforts taken by the loco pilot. “My salute to such a loco pilot. The poor fellow stopped the train, then woke up the man, lifted him and removed him from the track,” they wrote.
There were several railway accidents reported across India in 2024. Recently, Sabarmati Express train derailed near Kanpur this month due to an “object placed on the track”, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had said.
Earlier, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had arrested a YouTuber for placing various kinds of objects on railway tracks for publicity, endangering the safety of Indian Railways and passengers.
