Man robbed at knifepoint at Runnymede subway station, Toronto police say

Toronto police said a man was robbed at knifepoint at the Runnymede subway station Wednesday evening.

Toronto police said in an email to the Star they were called at about 9:40 p.m. to Runnymede Station in Toronto’s Bloor-West neighbourhood. There, police said officers found a man had been robbed of personal belongings. Police said the man was shown a knife.

The suspect left, police said, and no injuries were reported.

Police are investigating the incident. Police said they have no suspect information at this time.

The incident is another in the latest trend of violent events on Toronto’s public transit system this year. On Sunday, a woman was slashed in the face at Spadina station. Also on Sunday, a man was stabbed in the face with a broken bottle at Chester Station.
