Instead of soap, use gram flour (equal quantities of green gram and Bengal gram) mixed in milk or rice water. Scrub the paste on the body and rinse with clear water. This is an excellent recipe to improve the clarity of the skin. Follow this skin cleansing procedure at least once or twice a week.
Skin cleansing recipe
Take a lime and cut it into two. Rub one half on the face gently. Squeeze the other half in a cup of water, add a little bit of rock salt and drink it. Do it for 6-8 weeks regularly and observe the remarkable improvement. This lightens and clears the skin.
Mix one tablespoon oatmeal powdered with little yoghurt to make a paste Add the juice of cucumber or grapes into the paste. Massage this pack into the tanned areas and leave for 30
minutes. Rinse off and apply moisturiser mixed with 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil.
Cleansing mask for oily skin
Mix ¼ teaspoon fuller’s earth, some tomato pulp and yoghurt. Add a few drops of cucumber juice and apply on your face for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water. You should apply this mask at least twice a week.
Toning mask for oily skin
Make a paste of one beaten egg white, 1 tablespoon yoghurt and Multani Mitti. Apply on the face and leave it on the skin till it dries. Rinse it off with clear water. Use this toning mask at least twice a week.
Exfoliation to remove dead skin
It is one of the major steps during winters in order to reduce dead skin cells. Exfoliate your skin twice a week with this recipe. Mix 1 tablespoon rice powder, 1 teaspoon yoghurt, a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lemon in a bowl. Apply this mixture to your clean face and massage gently onto your skin. Rinse your face with lukewarm water.
Remove unwanted facial hair
A natural way to remove unwanted facial hair is, soak moong dal in coconut water overnight, for even better results let it be soaked for 2 nights. Then add a teaspoon of turmeric to it and churn it all together to form a dry paste. Apply a thick layer on the hair and scrub it off after it is completely dry.
For dull & tired skin
Mix 1 tablespoon of gram flour with a pinch of turmeric, squeeze half a lemon, fresh cream, and 2 drops of lavender essential oil. Apply this pack on your face; you can use this as an exfoliator or a skin brightening pack. If using it as an exfoliator let the pack dry completely and then scrub it from your face, rinse it off after it is completely removed, and then apply a moisturiser. If using as a pack, let the pack semi-dry and then rinse it off, follow it up with a moisturiser.
