Late chef-author Anthony Bourdain’s new travel guide published – Times of India

Popular American chef, TV show host, author Anthony Bourdain’s untimely death by suicide shocked his fans across the world. Now, almost three years since then, news is that a new guide on world travel by Bourdain is being published.

Bourdain’s new book is titled ‘World Travel’ and it is co-authored by Laurie Woolever, who has previously co-written the cookbook ‘Appetites’ with him in 2016.

‘World Travel: An Irreverent Guide’ celebrates Anthony Bourdain’s extraordinary life and legacy as his travels took him from his home in New York to the smaller and lesser known regions across the world. “In ‘World Travel’, a life of experience is collected into an entertaining, practical, fun and frank travel guide that gives readers an introduction to some of his (Bourdain’s) favorite places – in his own words. Featuring essential advice on how to get there, what to eat, where to stay and, in some cases, what to avoid,” reads a statement by publisher Bloomsbury India.

Apart from Bourdain’s personal experiences, the book also contains a few essays by his friends, family and colleagues about the place. For instance, Bourdain’s brother Chris also shares his accounts of travelling with the late chef. Meanwhile, each chapter also carries illustrations by Wesley Allsbrook.

‘World Travel’ by Anthony Bourdain and Laurie Woolever released in April 2021.
