Katrina Kaif said that she doesn’t want to repeat herself too much in movies and wants to portray herself in a new way.
Katrina Kaif is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood today. She is not only loved by her fans for her talent but also for her candour. She recently opened up about not signing films repetitively and only if she can bring something to the table.
Speaking to Mid-day, Katrina Kaif said, “I want to portray myself in a new way. The reason behind that is that I don’t want to repeat myself too much anymore because, in certain scenarios, I am feeling bored of myself. If I am feeling bored of myself, I’m pretty sure the audience is going to be feeling bored. If I’m feeling repetitive, they’re going to feel it repetitive.”
She continued, “That’s the instinct that I try to go by. It’s not out of trying to predict the future, its out of being genuine and honest to myself. In certain spaces, I’m questioning myself, ‘Am I feeling joy in this moment? Am I feeling alive here? Do I have something to give here?’ Something new to give to myself as an experience and something new to give to the film in that space.”
“This is a kind of period of a certain transition in a way. As in, we all need to evolve and change over the years. I’m not the same 19-year-old who came into the film industry,” she added.
She said that the Tiger franchise brings her joy. Katrina Kaif mentioned that she loves the action genre, especially women-centric action films. She added that the backstory given to her character, Zoya, added an interesting dimension for her.
Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3 became a huge hit upon its release. The film saw Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan reprise their roles as Zoya and Tiger for a third time. Other than that, Katrina was also seen in Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi. Katrina’s performance was lauded in the film. The thriller movie will be released on Netflix this month.
