The Gaja Vahana Seva created a spiritual atmosphere among the devotees when the four elephants of the main temple– Padmavathi, Padmaja, Vaishnavi, and Mahalakshmi– led the procession across the four streets
The eighth day of Navaratri Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara, popularly known as Balaji, witnessed performances of some of the rarest art forms by as many as 400 artists of 15 troops from various states across the country in Tirumala, during Gaja Vahana Seva on Friday.
The Gaja Vahana Seva marks the culmination of the vahana sevas as part of the nine-day-long festivities. The performances kept the devotees, gathered to offer prayers to Lord Balaji, spellbound.
The Gaja Vahana Seva created a spiritual atmosphere among the devotees when the four elephants of the main temple– Padmavathi, Padmaja, Vaishnavi, and Mahalakshmi– led the procession across the four streets, where the cultural troops charged the ambiance with their songs and dances amidst the pleasant sounds produced from the various musical instruments by respective artists.

The other performances including– Gopika dance by Vamsidhar Reddy group from Tirupati; Yogachaap Kolaatam by B Sai Saroja group from Visakhapatnam; Bharatanatyam by Jyothi N Hegde group from Mysore; Patakunitha by N Nagendra cultural troop from Bangalore; the sunflower dance performed by M Saraswathi of Purushottamapalli from East Godavari distric; the Kolaatam dance performed by dance troops of Kavitha from Tirupati and Umarani from Nellore; and Peacock dance by Shobha Kumar troop from Srikakulam– kept the devotees mesmerised.
Apart from the above said performances, various dance and cultural troops including the folk dance by K Raju troop from Dwarampudi; Kolaatam dance by J Rajitha dance troop from Visakhapatnam; K Srinivasulu troop from Balajinagar of Tirumala; and the dance format of Goddess Durga in nine forms by Muralikrishna dance troop from Tirupati also attacked the viewers.
