‘Janmadinam Idam..’: In Delhi Metro, PM Modi Gets A Special Birthday Wish | WATCH – News18

The prime minister unveiled the extended Airport Express line and further inaugurated the first phase of YashoBhoomi IICC in Dwarka

Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled in Delhi Metro to inaugurate the Airport Express line extension from Dwarka Sector 21 metro station to the new Dwarka Sector 25 metro station.

In the video clip, the prime minister was seen interacting with the passengers who were also enthusiastically clicking pictures while being seated next to him.

In one of the clips, a passenger said, “Mai aapko janamdin ka wish sanskrit mei sunana chahti hoon (I want to wish you happy birthday in Sanskrit)” and went on to sing ‘Janmadinam idam..’

The prime minister — on his 73rd birthday — unveiled the extended Airport Express line.

Passengers in the Delhi Metro were seen clapping and singing happy birthday to the prime minister and taking his pictures.

Further, he also inaugurated the first phase of YashoBhoomi International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) in Dwarka.YashoBhoomi is being built in two phases and is located at a distance of 10 km from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The IICC is being developed as a modern centre to promote meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) activities to attract and promote business and industry. The complete project is planned over an area of 221.37 acres at Dwarka Sector 25 at an estimated cost of Rs 25,703 crore.

The total project area of the ‘state-of-the-art’ facility is over 8.9 lakh square meter and the total built up area is more than 1.8 lakh square meter.

The main auditorium comprises 15 convention rooms including the main auditorium, the grand ballroom and 13 meeting rooms with a total capacity of holding 11,000 delegates. It will be one of the world’s largest MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) facilities.

It is expected that the centre will bring New Delhi into the league of Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore in the sphere of the exhibition market, according to the commerce and industry ministry.
