Instagram Down: The Meta-owned popular social media app Instagram was down for thousands of users around the world, including India, on Tuesday. According to the outage-tracking website Downdetector, 42 per cent of users reported server connection problems, 36 per cent encountered issues within the app, and 22 pe rcent were unable to see their feeds.
The outage-tracking website also indicated that the disruption began at approximately 04:53 PM on September 11 and experienced another significant increase in issues at around 5 AM on September 12 morning. Multiple reports have also suggested that only Android users are experiencing issues with Instagram.
As of now, both Meta and Instagram have not yet acknowledged the outage. Many users took to the micro-blogging platform, previously known as Twitter, to report the outage. Downdetector also indicates that major cities in India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, are facing login issues on Instagram.
“Instagram has been down since yesterday @instagram Now Twitter is my best friend#instagramdown,” a user wrote on X.
Another user said: “I am surprised instagram had been down as long as it has. Anyone else having problems? Hasn’t worked all day for me. Some feed posts load, but super glitchy and inconsistent. Stories are totally broken.”
