The residents of this city wear several layers of clothes to avoid frostbite, the parked cars don’t start and visibility is low in this city due to ice fog.

In the latest viral video, a man shows the consequences of the chilly nature of Yakutsk. It claims that people don’t buy refrigerators here as they often hang their food out their windows to keep them cold. It is advised to wear several layers of clothes before going out to not experience the bone-chilling pain from the cold. In the video, the architecture of the buildings is shown which is observed to have a hollow space below. It is done to avoid the tilting of the building due to ice. It is also suggested by the residents of the city to avoid touching the metal poles in this city with their bare hands. The car remains turned on even after being parked to avoid the engine freeze. Once, the engine of the car is frozen then it becomes extremely difficult to restart it again. The video was posted on Instagram by a user named officialsamolatunji1.
After watching the video, netizens expressed their desire to visit this place. One of the users said that he wishes to spend his life here as he doesn’t like summers.
People in Yakutsk have now adjusted to this cold. They often use their frozen clothes to slide down the swings. “You can’t fight it. You either adjust and dress according or suffer,” said Anastasia Gruzdeva while talking to Reuters. She further said that people don’t feel cold in this city as they have accepted it as a new normal. A fish vendor sells frozen fish without keeping them in a freezer or refrigerator.
