In Phone Call With Biden, PM Modi Reiterates Support For Peace In Ukraine, Discusses Safety Of Bangladesh’s Hindus – News18

PM Modi and Biden talked about India-US cooperation, Ukraine, and the security of Bangladesh’s Hindu minorities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke with US President Joe Biden appreciating the latter’s commitment to India-US partnership. Both leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine over a phone call and discussed other regional and international issues of importance.

PM Modi recently returned from a trip to Kyiv where he met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden on the phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for early return of peace and stability,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi said that the leaders also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and the safety and security of the nation’s Bengali Hindu minorities.

“We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed on the need for early restoration of normalcy, and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh,” he said.
