Here’s what is happening in Toronto on Super Bowl Sunday


Whether you’re an NFL faithful or a Rihanna fan, chances are you will be near a television screen this weekend. Sunday marks Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles with the Barbadian singer taking the stage for the halftime show.

For those who didn’t score tickets or couldn’t fly out to Arizona this year, there are plenty of parties and events happening this weekend for football fanatics. There are no scheduled subway closures but various road closures continue.

Black Pearl bar

The Black Pearl will have an extra-extra-large screen coupled with beer pong, a live DJ, field goal kicking, games, giveaways, a game day menu and more.

The new bar on 184 Pearl Street will open its doors at 2 p.m. and tickets are priced at $22 for general admission or $33 for admission including drinks and pizza.

Rebel nightclub

The establishment on 11 Polson Street is kicking off the Super Bowl on a 34-foot screen with live entertainment, prizes, food and drink specials, games, giveaways and more. Free shuttle service to Union Station will be provided after the game.

Liberty Village

Both the Brazen Head Irish Pub at 165 Liberty Street East and The Craft Brasserie & Grille at 107 Atlantic Avenue will be hosting their viewing parties for the Chiefs vs. Eagles game.

The Brazen will be offering “Burger & Bud” specials all night.

CRAFT Beer Market

Described as a viewing party with “big screens, big sound, big happy hour,” CRAFT Beer Market is hosting its viewing party at 6:30 p.m. at 1 Adelaide Street East.

Attendees can expect all-day happy hour with food from $5 and drinks from $4.

Great Lakes Brewpub

GLB Brewpub is hosting its Super Bowl party at 6:30 p.m. at 11 Lower Jarvis Street with an “All American Super Bowl Snacks” menu, raffles, drink specials and more.

Guests can reserve a table online.

El Mocambo

The music and entertainment venue at 464 Spadina Avenue is opening their doors at 4 p.m. to host their annual watch party on its flat-screen TV.

El Mocambo will offer happy hour specials, food, giveaways and more.

Tickets and table reservations can be purchased here starting at $13.

The Fox on John

The restaurant at 106 John Street is kicking off Super Bowl Sunday at 6:30 p.m. with game day platters, $35 Sol beer buckets and more.

The Rec Room

With doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and tickets going for $20, The Rec Room is hosting a pre-game event with trivia, prizes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The venue is at 255 Bremner Boulevard.

Seating is only reserved until kickoff at 6:30 p.m.

Fox & Fiddle Cityplace

Along with prizes, giveaways, food, $5.70 Storyteller pints and bar rail all day long, the establishment at 17 Fort York Boulevard will also be having a “50/50 Super Bowl square pool with proceeds being donated to SickKids.”

For fans watching at home, Fox Cityplace is also offering a Super Bowl ribs and wings combo.
