Pizza is one dish we cannot get enough of. Right? It is THE most popular Italian dish among Indians and there’s no denying it. In fact, today, pizza is a part of our food habit so much so that we end up ordering it almost every weekend. From the street side food joints to the fanciest of the restaurants – we find pizza and pizza lovers at every nook and corner of the country. That’s not all. We often make it at home too. During the months-long lockdown in 2020, we have seen people making pizzas at home right from the scratch. From kneading the pizza dough to whipping pizza sauce, we have done it all by ourselves. But we agree, the process has been tedious and time-taking. This is why we thought of finding an easier version of the pizza sauce recipe that can make your job a tad bit easier.
How To Make Pizza Sauce In 5 Minutes | 5-Minute Pizza Sauce Recipe:
A traditional pizza sauce recipe is prepared by cooking fresh tomatoes to a point where the natural water content comes down to zero. Then garlic, spices and herbs are added and sauteed for about half an hour to get the right consistency of the sauce.
But, in this recipe, we avoid the whole process of cooking the tomatoes. Instead, we first blanch them and then blend them with herbs and spices.
Take few tomatoes, blanch them in boiling water and deskin and deseed them. Then chop the tomatoes into small pieces, drain out the excess water and add it to a food processor. Add some freshly chopped garlic, garlic powder, oregano, pizza seasoning and salt, and blend everything together. Do not add any water to the recipe.
Transfer the pizza sauce to an airtight jar and refrigerate for a week and use it whenever you feel like it. Simple, right?
