Hanuman Jayanti 2023: Know Date And Significance Of This Auspicious Day – News18

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated twice a year.

Hanuman ji is the most awakened god in Kalyug and even today, he protects his devotees in times of crisis.

There is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm currently, all over India, as the festival of lights aka Diwali is right around the corner. Diwali is celebrated in the country because it is believed that Lord Ram reached Ayodhya after conquering Lanka during this time. That’s when the people of Ayodhya welcomed him by lighting diyas and burning crackers. Lord Ram returned after 14 years of exile and brought back his wife, Goddess Sita, from Lanka. Now, it has been found that Hanuman Jayanti is also celebrated around Diwali. This year, the birth anniversary of the great devotee of Ram will be celebrated a day before Diwali, that is today, on November 11. Usually, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated twice a year. Earlier this year, it was celebrated on April 6. This year, it will coincide with Narak Chaturdashi.

According to Mahant Raju Das of Ayodhya Siddha Peeth Hanumangarh, as per the Vayu Purana, it is believed that Lord Hanuman was born in the Aries ascendant of Swati Nakshatra on a Tuesday, which was the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi date of the Kartik month. This year, the Chaturdashi date of Kartik month will fall on the day of Choti Diwali. Mahant Raju Das also added that it is believed that Hanuman ji is the most awakened god in Kalyug and that even today, he protects his devotees in times of crisis.

Tuesday is the day that has been dedicated to Hanuman Ji. On this day, people visit the temples of Bajrangbali to show devotion to him. They offer sweets, and an aarti is performed as per the rituals. It is believed that devotees should always sit on a coloured seat while worshipping Lord Hanuman.

According to Hindu belief, Hanuman Ji is always kept below Ram Darbar. It is also believed that no devotee can get the darshan of Lord Ram without the permission of Hanuman Ji. This is the reason that whenever a devotee visits Ayodhya to worship Lord Ram, they first have to go to Hanumangarhi and worship Bajrangbali.
