EDvestinU offers both undergraduate and graduate student loans, as well as refinancing. U.S. citizens, permanent residents and international students with an eligible co-signer may qualify for a private student loan with EDvestinU.

Potential borrowers need the following information to begin their online application:

  • School name and location.
  • Estimated loan amount.
  • Two personal references.
  • Employer and income documentation.
  • Government-issued identification.
  • Social Security card.

The completion of the application process depends on how quickly documents are provided and verified. Once all loan documents are signed and certified and the loan is approved, EDvestinU will coordinate with the financial aid department for funds to be sent directly to your school.

Both fixed- and variable-rate student loans are offered by EDvestinU. Loans are available from $1,000 up to the maximum determined by the student’s school of choice, and there is an aggregate limit of $200,000. EDvestinU charges no application or origination fees.

EDvestinU offers a 0.5-point rate discount to borrowers who set up automatic payments from a bank account.

EDvestinU private student loans are available to dependent and independent U.S. citizen and permanent resident undergraduate and graduate students. International students may also be eligible with a creditworthy U.S. citizen or permanent resident co-signer. Students are required to be enrolled at least half time at a U.S.-based, Title IV, degree-granting college or university.

Borrowers will need a minimum credit score of 750 to qualify for an EDvestinU private student loan, or 675 with an eligible co-signer. Borrowers or co-signers must also have a minimum individual annual gross income of $30,000.

EDvestinU is available in select states and Puerto Rico.

The Better Business Bureau gives the New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corp. a B+ rating. In 2021, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau received 19 student-loan-related complaints about the organization, all of which received a timely response and closed with an explanation.

In U.S. News’ ratings of student loan lenders, EDvestinU received 4.1 out of 5 stars overall, 4.3 for affordability, 3.8 for eligibility and 4.0 for customer service. The median overall rating for student loan lenders by U.S. News is 4.4.

Reach the EDvestinU Education Resources team by calling 855-887-5430 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday, or visit the website to schedule an appointment.

EDvestinU provides an online student loan payment calculator for potential borrowers to estimate interest rates and payments. Online applications can be saved and returned to as needed, and the website offers secure online document submission. Borrowers are able to manage their accounts online.

Borrowers have a few options when it comes to repaying their EDvestinU student loans, including:

  • Immediate payment.
  • Interest-only payments while in school.
  • Deferred payment with no in-school payments required, with the option to make extra payments as desired. There are no penalties for early repayment.

EDvestinU allows payments to be postponed with in-school deferment while the borrower is enrolled more than half time. Repayment terms of seven, 10 or 15 years are available.

EDvestinU does not provide a clear policy for deferment or forbearance due to financial hardship. However, borrowers facing hardship may qualify for loan deferment. Loans are discharged for the student (and co-signer, if applicable) if the student borrower dies.

Co-signer release is available after 36 months of consecutive, on-time payments if the borrower has a FICO score of at least 750 and minimum income of $30,000. Additionally, the borrower cannot have any negative credit history such as foreclosures, repossessions and unpaid tax liens during the last seven years, bankruptcies within the past 10 years or any defaults on education loans.

  • Students who want the option to make up to full payments while in school.
  • International students with an eligible co-signer.
  • Students who want to use a co-signer to qualify.
