The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismisses petitions challenging the Tabulation Scheme for Class 12 framed by CBSE, ICSE holding the schemes to be fair, reasonable and in the larger interest of students.

The top court recorded Centre’s submission that UGC will be asked to begin admissions for colleges after results of optional exam (if conducted) are also out. This will take care of students who take improvement exam.

SC says just because other exams are physically conducted does not mean that decision of Boards to cancel exams should be revisited.

Boards are autonomous. SC observes that students cannot be put under uncertainty. SC even dismisses challenge to scheme by compartment and private students as the exams are to be conducted between Aug 15-Sep 15.
