Vineet Kumar of Aurangabad has also been included.

The list includes well-known figures like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Demis Hassabis.

Artificial Intelligence is constantly being hailed as the next big thing in the world and it’s truly remarkable how much AI has evolved since its inception in the 1950s. With the world getting more dependent on AI with time, the future of AI can open up multiple chapters and avenues. The 100 most significant figures influencing the development of artificial intelligence (AI) are highlighted in the first-ever TIME100 AI list, which was published by TIME magazine.

While the list includes well-known figures like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Demis Hassabis, it also acknowledges the major achievements of people of Indian descent, highlighting India’s growing significance in the field of artificial intelligence.

Bihar’s Sayash Kapoor is also included in the list of 100 personalities included by the magazine. Sayash Kapoor is from Patna and is a prominent name in the world of AI development. Sayash holds a PhD from Princeton University. Along with his professor at Princeton University, Arvind Narayanan, he authored a book titled How to Recognize AI Snake Oil. The book gained widespread attention and is set to be published in 2024. The book analyses AI from a critical point of view and weighs its pros and cons, talking about what AI can do and what it cannot.

According to Sayash Kapoor, as told on the Princeton University CITP website, AI is at a turning point. “Journalists, legislators, and the general public are suddenly hearing the dialogues that were interesting only to researchers two years ago. I’m pleased that our research helped to direct this conversation.”

Other Indians who have been included in TIME’s list are his own professor Arvind Narayanan, CEO and co-founder of Curai Neal Khosla, founder and president of Encode Justice Sneha Revanur, CTO and co-founder of Refiberd Tushita Gupta, CEO of Karya, a nonprofit organisation Manu Chopra and principal researcher at Microsoft Research India Kalika Bali.

Apart from Sayash, Vineet Kumar of Aurangabad has also achieved recognition in the field of AI. He was awarded the second spot for the startup in the Telangana government’s “Smart Ideathon 2023″ programme. The event took place on August 24 and 25 in Hyderabad. Vineet Kumar has been invited by Northern University Boston to conduct research for 15 days.
