Arvind Kejriwal Arrest LIVE Updates: After two hours of questioning at his residence, the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday arrested Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party president Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case.
The arrest came hours after the Delhi High Court denied any interim protection from arrest to the AAP chief in connection with the summonses issued to him by the federal agency in the liquor policy scam case.
Sources in Kejriwal’s team filed a petition challenging HC’s order denying interim relief to him. His legal team sources confirmed that an urgent hearing before the Supreme Court was attempted, however, the hearing was granted for Friday.
Several leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc stood by the Delhi CM and slammed the probe agency and the Centre for the same saying that this was “killing, mockery and murder of democracy”.
The Delhi chief minister is set to be produced before the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday.
