Schools in several states including Delhi are slated to remain shut on October 28 on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti
Schools in Delhi will remain closed tomorrow, November 28 on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. Not just Delhi, schools in several states are slated to remain shut on October 28. While Dussehra is over, several local holidays are scheduled to be happening in the months of October and November due to which schools will remain shut for some days.
Schools in Bhopal will also remain shut on October 28 to mark Valmiki Jayanti. All schools in Bhopal were closed due to a local holiday in the state capital on October 25. The day following Dussehra, government schools in Bhopal shut down classes due to a local holiday, and many private institutions followed. Schools were urged to alert kids and their parents in advance of the closure.
Valmiki Jayanti, which is also known as Pargat Diwas, is an annual Indian festival that pays homage to the revered Ramayana author and ancient Indian poet Valmiki. The festival usually takes place on the night of the full moon in the month of Ashwin, commonly known as Purnima. However, students must check their academic holiday calendar to determine if their respective schools have a holiday marked for Valmiki Jayanti.
Meanwhile, schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on October 28 and 29 due to the UP PET 2023. A holiday has been declared for schools in 35 districts in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has issued a directive indicating that no additional examinations would be scheduled tomorrow and on Sunday in order to ensure the proper execution of the exams. The 35 districts’ schools have also been given official orders to stop their regular classes. This school closure is intended to prevent disturbances and to provide a welcoming environment for applicants sitting for the test.
Apart from this, schools are likely to remain closed on November 12 due to Diwali, November 15 due to Bhai Dooj, November 19 to celebrate Chhath Puja, November 24 due to Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Martyrdom Day, and November 27 t observe Guru Nanak Jayanti.
