A few days ago, Karan Johar unveiled the trailer of his upcoming series, Showtime. Karan Johar is all set to reveal what goes on behind the scenes in Bollywood. In the series, Rajeev Khandelwal plays a big-time superstar, Armaan, who is shown to be arrogant and egotistical, as per the trailer. Recently, Rajeev spoke about the characters and the real-life superstars who inspired it.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, he said, “I could never relate to Armaan’s character at all. I’m a very different person. So if you look at my career graph or my trajectory or my choices, you will realize that I am not one of those actors. But yes, the kind of actor that I’m portraying, they’re all around. So you keep hearing stories about these actors all the time. So it’s a mixture.”
“It’s an amalgamation of many actors, and I won’t name them. But I’m sure I must have reminded you of a couple of them. So it’s all about a lot of superstars we’ve seen in the past and their insecurities, their attitude, approach, their belief system and things like that,” he further added.

The web series features Emraan Hashmi as a second-generation film producer at odds with a newcomer, played by Mahima Makwana. After a long wait, the makers have finally unveiled the show’s trailer.

Created by Sumit Roy and Mihir Desai and directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, Showtime will delve into the unseen world that lies behind the camera. It will give audiences a sneak peek into what goes behind the multi-million dollar industry of Bollywood, nepotism and the power struggles at the top.
The multi-starrer web series Showtime is slated to stream from March 8.
