‘Question About India’s Security’: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s Fresh Attack on Mahua Moitra in ‘Cash for Query’ Case – News18

The allegation made against Moitra by Dubey was that she purportedly asked questions in Parliament in exchange for gifts and cash from the Hiranandani group.

The BJP had intensified its attack on Mahua Moitra over allegations of she taking bribes for raising questions in Parliament, demanding that either the TMC leader should step down as MP or TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee “sack” her.

One day before appearing before the Parliament Ethics committee, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey took aim once more at TMC MP Mahua Moitra. Responding to Moitra’s comments about him, Bharatiya Janata Party Member Nishikant Dubey emphasized on Wednesday that the issue isn’t about Adani, degrees, or theft, but rather the corruption through deceptive practices misleading the nation.

“The question is about the dignity of Parliament, the security of India and the propriety, corruption and criminality of the alleged MP. The answer has to be given whether NIC mail is open in Dubai or not. Ask questions in exchange for money or not. Who bore the expenses of travelling abroad? Did you get permission from @loksabhaspeaker and @MEAIndia to go abroad or not? The question is not about Adani, degree or theft, but about your corruption by misleading the country,” Nishikant Dubey had posted on X in response to Mahua’s comment.

Nishikant Dubey’s accusation came after Mahua Moitra’s criticism of him, following Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s assurance to Dubey that his complaint regarding the misuse of Parliament login credentials would be thoroughly investigated.

In a statement on X on Tuesday, Mahua had said: “Who is lying? 2 days ago Fake Degree Wala said NIC already given details including “Dubai” logins to probe agency. Now Ashwini Vaishnaw says NIC will give info in future if asked by LS or Ethics comm.”

She added that the BJP is welcome to do hit job on her but “Adani+Godda perhaps not best strategists”. Earlier on Tuesday, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw wrote to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, emphasizing the gravity of the issues raised by the Lok Sabha MP in the alleged ‘Cash for Query’ controversy.

The BJP had intensified its attack on Mahua Moitra over allegations of she taking bribes for raising questions in Parliament, demanding that either the TMC leader should step down as MP or TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee “sack” her.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the allegations against Moitra indicated a “complete compromise of the parliamentary system”. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey sought to draw the attention of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to the developments in the matter, insisting that an immediate action is necessary on this.

The TMC remained silent on the issue. Darshan Hiranandani, the CEO of real estate-to-energy group Hiranandani, who allegedly paid Moitra to raise questions in Parliament about Adani Group, on Thursday said she targeted Gautam Adani to “malign and embarrass” Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose impeccable reputation gave opposition no opportunity to attack him.
