Ricky Kej shared a video on his X handle in which a cockroach was seen roaming around on the floor of his room.

Grammy Award Winner Ricky Kej recently took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) to narrate his ‘bad’ hotel experience in Mumbai. Kej mentioned that he was staying at a hotel at the airport when he was shocked to find cockroaches in the room. He further complained about “dirty toilet drains” and “faulty plumbing”.

“Bad experience once in the past, tried giving them a second chance. Unfortunately – untrained staff right from the check-in counters, cockroaches in the room, faulty plumbing, non-existent laundry pickups, dirty toilet drains, Etc. I really hope they improve.. for the sake of the group,” he wrote.

In a subsequent post, the Grammy Award winner shared a video in which a cockroach was seen roaming around on the floor of his room. Not just this, Ricky accused the hotel staff of being rude and wrote, “Following my tweet, the folks at @stayatginger have deactivated my key. Rude, threatening service, complacency..and now vengeance. There seems to be a huge culture problem with Ginger Hotel at the Mumbai Airport. @TataCompanies please note.”

Soon after Ricky’s post went viral, the hotel’s official X handle also responded to the music composer and apologised to him for the inconvenience. “Dear Ricky, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused during your stay. We are investigating the matter with urgency. Your feedback is invaluable, and a member of our team will reach out soon. Regards.”

Ricky Kej is a music composer who is known for his three times Grammy wins. He won his first two Grammys in 2015 and 2022 respectively in the Best New Age Album category. His latest Grammy win was last year when he shared the best immersive audio album award for Divine Tides with Stewart Copeland, the drummer of the iconic British rock band The Police. Tej has performed across the world including at the United Nations headquarters in New York and Geneva.
