Kangana Ranaut has claimed that there are no true friendships in Bollywood.
Asha Parekh cited examples of her friendships in Bollywood to dispute Kangana Ranaut’s claim.
Veteran actress Asha Parekh believes that real friendships exist in Bollywood. She pointed to her close relationships with fellow actresses Waheeda Rehman and Helen as proof. During a News18 event where Kangana Ranaut was also present, Asha Parekh disagreed with Kangana’s statement about fake friendships in the industry. She cited her own strong friendship with Waheeda Rehman and Helen as an example and challenged those who doubt such friendships to ask Kangana why they might think so, receiving applause from the audience.
When asked about Kangana’s remarks on friendships in Bollywood, she said, “Have you seen how close me Waheeda ji and Helen ji are? We have a strong friendship,” she said. When asked if such strong friendships exist in Bollywood today, she retorted, “Ab woh Kangana ji se puchiye na, ki kyu nahi hai (Please ask Kangana why it doesn’t exist anymore)”. She also added, “Aapne aisa kyu nahi pucha, ki aap aise kyu bol rahe hai? Aapne kisi se dosti ki hai ya nahi (Why didn’t you ask her why she said it? Has she tried to be friends with anyone)?”
When the host suggested that Kangana might be speaking from her own experiences, Asha Parekh said that it’s a personal choice for everyone to decide who they want to be friends with. “You must ask her ki woh kyu nahi dosti karti? Mere saath toh bohot achchi hai woh (She is very good to me),” she said.
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut’s much anticipated film Tejas has been in the pipeline since three years now. The film is finally making its way to the theatres this year. Ahead of the same, on the occasion of Air Force Day, makers dropped the trailer of the film. Helmed by Sarvesh Mewara, Tejas is all set to release on October 27.
